A real person reads these. If something is wrong, broken, or just doesn't make sense, write in — including the make of phone and what you were doing when it happened, which usually saves a round trip.

That is deliberate. Under heavy tree cover the GPS fix gets too coarse to measure with, and HEAVY would rather lose ground than invent it — it holds the distance and tells you on screen when this is happening. Where it can, it fills the gap using your stride instead, and the debrief will say how much of the total came from that rather than from satellites.
When a ruck ends, HEAVY re-measures the recorded track as a whole. GPS wander adds small amounts of zigzag that look like distance while you're moving and are obvious in hindsight, so the finished number is usually a little lower — and closer to the truth — than the live one. The debrief tells you when this happened and by how much.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by HEAVY, so they're cancelled in your Apple ID settings: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → HEAVY → Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen while signed into the same Apple ID that bought it.
Signing in with Apple attaches a recoverable identity to your account, so your log comes back on the new phone. If you never signed in, use Profile → Export Log to save a CSV before you wipe the old device.
Profile → Delete Account. It removes your log, gear, profile and leaderboard entry from the server and clears the app. There is no undo — export first if you want to keep a copy.
Press and hold their row on the Legends board to block or report them. Blocking takes effect immediately and they no longer appear for you.
Yes. The phone measures distance, pace, elevation and load on its own. A watch adds live heart-rate zones and the recovery signals behind the daily advice — without one, HEAVY says plainly that it is coaching from training load alone rather than pretending to know more.
